Data Deletion & Privacy Requests

Use this page to ask for a copy of your data, correct it, export it, delete your account, or withdraw consent for marketing and optional analytics.

Last updated: [[Effective Date]]

This document is an app-owner draft, not legal advice. Highlighted fields must be completed and the whole document reviewed by a licensed lawyer before public launch.

1. Requests you can make

  • Access — a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — fix inaccurate name, email, phone or listing details.
  • Export — a machine-readable export of your account, bookings and reviews.
  • Deletion — closure of your account and erasure of data we are not legally required to retain.
  • Consent withdrawal — stop marketing emails or optional analytics processing.

2. How to submit a request

Email privacy@exploresaltwater.com from the address registered on your account with the subject “Privacy request”, and state which of the actions above you want. If you cannot access that address, we will ask for alternative identity verification before acting.

You can also close your account by contacting support from inside the app; support chat is available from the footer.

3. Timeline

We acknowledge requests within Acknowledgement SLA — e.g. 3 business days and complete them within Completion SLA — e.g. 30 days. Complex requests may be extended once with notice.

4. What deletion does and does not remove

  • Removed: profile, saved trips, notification preferences, message content, draft listings and marketing subscriptions.
  • Retained: booking, invoice and payment records required for accounting, tax and dispute purposes for Retention Period — accounting/tax.
  • Anonymised: reviews may remain published without your name where other users rely on them.
  • Providers with active bookings must complete or refund them before an account can be deleted.

5. Complaints

If you are unsatisfied with our handling of a request, escalate to escalations@exploresaltwater.com. You may also complain to the competent data protection authority in your country, such as Regulator Name — e.g. SDAIA in Saudi Arabia.
